FundsNetwork has produced a video guide for advisers to help with pension and tax matters ahead of the upcoming tax year-end.
The video features FundsNetwork Tax and Trust planning head Paul Kennedy and its national pension sales manager Paul Squirrell, offering a step-by-step guide for navigating various types of allowances, pension contribution and carry-forward rules.
It also explains the consequences and possible advantages of exceeding the annual allowance.
The video sits on the FundsNetwork ‘Technical matters’ hub, a resource designed to support advisers with technical viewpoints and client guides, as well as videos intended to refresh pension technical knowledge in preparation for CII exams.
Head of sales Paul Richards said: “As the tax year-end approaches, many firms will undoubtedly be busy advising clients on the increasingly complex world of retirement and tax planning, which is why we produced this latest video.”
Old Mutual Wealth is also launching a pension planning calculator ahead of the tax year-end to help advisers deal with annual allowance changes, taking into account ‘adjusted’ and ‘threshold’ income, as well as any carry-forward allowances available. It will be hosted on the provider’s website and rolled out through February and March.
